DAY 1 Arrive in Luoyang

In the morning, you'll go to Xian train station to catch your train to Luoyang by your own, it takes around 1.5 hrs. Upon you arrive in Luoyang, our tour guide will pick you up at Luoyang train station with a welcome signage "Luoyang Private Tour" and two days Luoyang tour includes the following attractions and activities: (By the way, we provide round way Xian transfer service as well, feel free to let us know if you have any requirement, this tour can be customised based on your requirements).

Your first destination is White Horse Temple. White Horse Temple is the first Buddhist Temple ever built in China, established in 68 AD under the patronage of Emperor Ming in the Eastern Han dynasty capital Luoyang. The site is just outside the walls of the ancient Eastern Han capital, east of Luoyang. The White Horse Temple is considered by most believers as "the cradle of Chinese Buddhism", it's also the geographical landmarks to the south are Manghan Mountain and Lucoche River.

Later, move to Shaolin Temple. also known as the Shaolin Monastery, is a Chan ("Zen") Buddhist temple in Dengfeng County, Luoyang. Dating back 1,500 years when founded by Fang Lu-Hao, Shaolin Temple is the main temple of the Shaolin school of Buddhism to this day. Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Historic Monuments of Dengfeng".

After the tour ends, drive you back to your hotel.

DAY 2 Luoyang Departure

In the morning, our tour guide will meet you at your hotel. You'll visit Longmen Grottoes, around 30 minutes drive for one way. The Longmen Grottoes are some of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. Longmen Grottoes is regarded as "an outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity", for its perfection of an art form, and for its encapsulation of the cultural sophistication of Tang China.

The Longmen Grottoes houses tens of thousands of statues of Buddha and his disciples starting from Northern Wei Dynasty in 493 AD. There are as many as 100,000 statues within the 2,345 caves, ranging from an 1 inch (25 mm) to 57 feet (17 m) in height. The area also contains nearly 2,500 stelae and inscriptions, whence the name "Forest of Ancient Stelae", as well as over sixty Buddhist pagodas. Situated in a scenic natural environment, the caves were dug from a 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) stretch of cliff running along both banks of the river. 

In the afternoon, drive you to Luoyang National Peony Garden. Luoyang is renowned for its many peony beds where the famed flower has been cultivated for centuries. The peony, one of the national emblems of China, is known as the "King of the Flower Kingdom". Peony blossom appreciation is an ancient tradition for the Chinese since the Tang Dynasty (618-907) when Luoyang was China's capital. Peonies are a symbol for the history and cultural heritage of Luoyang. Luopu Park, Peony Park, Shenzhou Peony Garden, National Peony Garden, and International Peony Garden are all excellent places for flower appreciation. The varieties of the Luoyang peony are as numerous as the stars, among which "Yao Huang" and "Wei Zi" are the most famous since they are known as the "king and queen of flowers." The festival exhibits display not only Chinese peonies, of which more than 600 were propagated in Luoyang, but also peonies from many other countries.

After the tour ends, your will be taken back to your hotel in Luoyang or Luoyang train station.
