Day 1 Arrive in Shanghai, Shanghai to Xi'an by train

Welcome to China! Upon your arrival in Shanghai, our Shanghai local driver will pick you up at the exit of the airport with a welcome signage of your name and you will be escorted to Shanghai train station directly for your bullet train to Xi'an. It takes around 6-7 hours for one way.

Once you arrived, our Xi'an local tour guide will pick you up at the exit of the train station, you will find a welcome signage "Xi'an Private Tour" and drive you to your hotel. Our tour guide will help you check-in, the rest of the day is on your own.

Day 2 Xi'an

After breakfast, you adventure begins with the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Terracotta Warriors and Horses:Known as “the eighth Wonders of the world”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture which is listed as the most significant discovery of the 20th century. Up to now, there has discovered a total of 179 accompanying burial pits of different connotations and various shapes in Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum area. The discovery of these pits has provided all important significance in the research of the burial system of the Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum, the characteristics structures and characteristics of the burial pits. However. what makes people feel amazing is that of all the burial pits, none has been found survived from being burnt down.

In the afternoon, drive you to Banpo Neolithic Village Museum. Banpo Museum is the first prehistoric excavation site museum in China. It was named after the first discovery of this civilization in Yangzshuo. It is a typical settlement of matrilinear clan commune of Neolithic Period. People used to live here and used tools made of wood and stone to find food. Women, the crucial labor force, were responsible for making pottery, spinning, and raising the family, while men fished.  As the precious cultural heritage in China, it plays an important role in researching the history of primitive society of China. It has several reconstructed houses designed to resemble the Neolithic settlement.

Banpo Culture
Banpo Culture can be dates back around 6,000 years ago (5000-3000 BC). Banpo is an archaeological site discovered in 1953. It contains the remains of several well organized Neolithic settlements carbon dated to 5600–6700 years ago. At that time, people live there, the houses were circular, built of mud and wood with overhanging thatched roofs, the houses were supported by timber poles, many of which were semisubterranean with the floor typically 1 meter below the ground surface. They sat on low foundations. There appear to be communal burial areas.

It's the type site associated with Yangshao Culture. Archaeological sites with similarities to the first phase at Banpo are considered to be part of the "Banpo phase" of the Yangshao culture.

Day 3 Xi'an

In the morning, you'll visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda, is a Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China and became the symbol of the old-line Xi'an. It was built in 652 during the Tang dynasty and originally had five stories. The structure was rebuilt in 704 during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian, and its exterior brick facade was renovated during the Ming dynasty. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion and its simple but appealing style of construction. It is rated as a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve. One of the pagoda's many functions was to hold sutras and figurines of the Buddha that were brought to China from India by the Buddhist translator and traveler Xuanzang.

In the afternoon, you will head for Bell Tower. Bell Tower sits in the center of Xi’an ancient city, which is the largest and the best-retained one of its kind in China, and it’s of a high historical and artistic value. The Bell Tower is resplendent and magnificent, on the top of which stands a gilded bottle-shaped ornament which shines brightly in the sun. A 6-meter (20 feet) tall arched gate opens in the west, east, north and south sides respectively, through which all traffic passes. A number of highlighted cultural relics are exhibited in Xi’an Bell Tower, including a huge bell, inscribed steles and couplets hung on the column, all of which are of high historical and cultural values.

The last stop is Muslim Qaurter. the Muslim Quarter is the hub of the Muslim community in Xian City, Shaanxi Province. Located to the north of the West Street in the city center, the quarter covers several blocks inhabitated by over 20,000 Muslims. Muslim food and souvenir market is another feature of the area. There are also a great many muslim snacks to be found along this street, such as preserved meat, casserole, various noodles, and so on. They are waiting for you to enjoy.

Day 5 Beijing

Firstly, start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tian'an men Square which is now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Square is the geographical center of Beijing City. It is the largest city square in the world, occupying an area of 440,000 square meters (about 109 acres), and able to accommodate 1,000,000 people at one time. Tiananmen Gate on the northern square was the site where the Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China. The square is a conglomeration of splendid and beautiful flowers and the red national flag which flutters in the wind. The raising of the national flag is something which should not be missed by visitors to Tiananmen Square.

After sightseeing, walk into the Tiananmen you will meet the one of the world’s 5 most important palaces Forbidden City. The Forbidden City, also named the Palace Museum, shares the honor of being one of five world-famous palaces with the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in England, the White House in the U.S. and the Kremlin in Russia. The incomparable palace occupies an area of 720,000 square meters (177.9 acres) and has approximately 8,700 rooms. A high red wall with a total length of 3,400 meters (3,718 yards) encases the palace. 

The palace, the most magnificent and splendid palace complex in China, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Building in 1987. The Forbidden City is the imperial palace where twenty-four emperors ascended the throne and exercised their strong power to the nation and reigned over the country for over 500 years. More than one million civilian workers spent about fourteen years to complete this most brilliant palace in China history. Pass through various doorways to admire the magnificent and well preserved buildings decorated with yellow glazed tile roof, white marble base and splendid colorful paintings.

Have lunch at the local restaurant, taste the local cuisine in Beijing, and have a rest for a while.

In the afternoon, drive about 6km to next imperial site - Temple of Heaven. The temple was constructed in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and was enlarged during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is the grandest cult architecture complex in the world and a masterpiece of the Chinese people created in ancient times. It covers 2,700,000 square meters (667 acres). Emperors of the two dynasties used to worship the heaven and pray for rich harvests, as the feudal emperors thought they were the son of the heaven. 

It is also one of the most brilliant ancient architectural masterpieces in China. Today, it is a pleasant place for leisure stay of walking or sightseeing, also for exploration of local culture.

In the early morning, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby and drive you to Mutianyu Great Wall (less crowded), it takes around 1.5 hours for one way.
