Day 1 Lhasa Arrival

Welcome to China! Today, you'll make your own flight arrangement to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Upon your arrival, your local guide will pick you up at the exit of the airport with welcome sign "China Private Tour" and you'll be escorted to your hotel immediately. The rest day is free on your own to explore the city or recover the jet leg.

Day 2 Lhasa

After breakfast,our guide will take you to the Potala Palace, it's the most famous and landmark of Lhasa. The palace with a long history was found in the 7th.century. The gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet are the most worth seeing in Potala Palace. You will spend a morning in this palace to learn about the culture of Tibetan buddhism and appreciate the architecture.

In the afternoon, you will head to Jokhang Temple, is the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple. Some of them progress by prostrating themselves throughout their journey until they reach the threshold of the temple.

The last stop for the tour is Barkhor street, it's a popular place for female since it's a busy shopping street in Lhasa.There are many distinctive shops that sell different Tibetan stuff, you can find lots of local products here, such as local handicraft, Thangka, and so on. What's more, you can join with locals and pilgrims if you interested in the local religious. 

After the tour, drive you back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 3 Lhasa

After breakfast, drive you to visit the Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Firstly, our guide will show the Drepung Monastery, which is the largest of all Tibetan monasteries that housed for more than 10,000 monks. It was the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed the Potala. It was known for the high standards of its academic study, and was called the Nalanda of Tibet. And then you also can visit the biggest monastery kitchen in the monastery and enjoy Buddhist sculpture carving workshop near Drepung.

In the afternoon, you will visit the another monastery-Sera Monastery, which is another one of the ‘Great Three’ Gelug monasteries. It is famous for the Buddhism activities of "Monks Debate" for around 3 to 5 PM in the afternoon. Also, inside the monastery, the three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha is the hot attractions. 

After the tour, drive you back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 4 Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse

After breakfast, drive you to Shigatse from Lhasa. Along the way, you will visit the Yamdrok Lake, it is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is said that devout Buddhists go around the lake’s perimeter every year, and it takes a month or so by riding a horse.  

Then, you have chance to enjoy the Karola Glacier when you drving along the way. It is about 300m from the main highway with easy access on your way to Gyantse. Upon arrive Gyantse, our guide will take you to visit the main monastery in Gyantse-Pelkor Chode Monastery. Pelkhor Chode in Gyantse town is located about 230km to the south of Lhasa and 100kmto east of Shigatse. The monastery is a short walk from the heart of the town.

After the tour, drive you to your hotel in Shigatse.

Day 5 Shigatse-Tingri-EBC

After breakfast, drive you to Lhatse, which is a small town. Upon arrival, our guide will arrange lunch for you at local restaurant. Starts your tour after a short break. In the afternoon, our guide will take you to Tingri. You will pass Tsola Pass, and Gyatsola Pass. In the late afternoon, you enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve. You can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass (5198m).Then we drive along the new zigzag road to Rongpuk or the Tent Camp to stay overnight. If the weather is good, you can have a clear view of the sunset of golden Everest peak.

Note: As for the accommodation for this day: If you travel during May-October, we will arrange you stay overnight at the nomad tents of the new Everest Base Camp;If you travel during Nov.-April, we will arrange guesthouse. No matter which place you stay both can enjoy the sunrise and sunset of Everest.

Day 6 EBC-Shigatse

If the weather permits, you can get up early to catch the sunrise scenery of Everest Peak. You can get up early and enjoy the sunrise of Everest Peak at lodging area. After that, we can drive you to the Everest Base Camp for the sightseeing,it is a life time dream of for many western tourists. To stand at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain Mt. Everest and see high up is many people’s desires. This trek is the perfect opportunity to explore the lifestyle

After the tour, drive you back to your hotel in Shigatse.

Day 7 Shigatse-Lhasa

After breakfast, you will visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, it is seat to the Panchen Lama, the second most important spiritual leader of Tibet. Tashi Lhunpo Monastery seeks to provide the best possible modern education, along with a deep and intimate understanding of the heritage of Tibet.

After the tour, drive you back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 8 Lhasa Depature

Today is free on your own untill your guide transfer you to the airport and your 8 Days China Adventure Tour to Lhasa Tibet comes to the end.
