Overview
Kashgar has a rich cultural history dating back thousands of years, having served as an important hub along the Silk Road. Population
The population of Kashgar is 449,920 and 90% of people are uyghur.

Language
The Uighurs in Kashgar mainly live in the old city and stroll around the old city. You will find that children aged three or four will say “Hello” to you. Local Han people will almost always speak simple Uyghur language. If you bargain on the market, the Uyghur number theory is more useful. The locals called Kashgar “hashi” instead of “kashi".

Geography
Kashgar is a westernmost city in China. Kashgar lies in far western China in the Uygur Region of Xinjiang. The city is situated at the western end of the Tarim Basin in a fertile oasis of loess and alluvial soils watered by the Kashgar River and by several springs.

There are some banks in Kashgar city, such as Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Agricultural Bank of China and China Bank of Construction. There are four biggest bank in China. It is easy to find ATM in Kashgar city center, and it is hard to find in countryside.
