Introdution

Located 10 km east of Lantian County in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, under the Wangshun Mountain, Pu Hua Town, Shuilu'an Temple is famous for the famous temples of the six dynasties and is famous for preserving ancient exquisite and rare colored sculptures. It is the treasure house of ancient sculpture art in China and is known as "the second Dunhuang of China". It is surrounded by water on three sides, shaped like an island, the emperor has a towering green mountain, and there is a river circulation around it, so it is called "Shuilu'an".

According to textual research, it was originally the lower courtyard of Wuzhen Temple in Tang Dynasty. In Ming Dynasty, Zhu Huaiyi, king of Qin Dynasty, often traveled here. Because he liked the scenery here, he worshipped the temple as a monarchy and renovated it. It was announced as a national cultural relic protection unit in 1996.

What to See in Shuilu'an Temple

Shuilu'an has been known as "the first color plastic wall in the world," known as the Buddhist Holy Land. It used to be the land and water hall of the Wushen temple, and it was an important place for the holding of the "Shuilu Lent" and the "Shuilu Road Center" at that time.

In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Huaiwei, the king of Qin Dynasty, spent more than five years repairing a family temple. More than 3,700 clay sculptures, preserved in the Daxiong Palace of Shuilu'an, were called "gems of wall sculpture". The pavilions and pavilions, pavilions and pagodas shaped by Zhu Huaiwei, flying dragons and phoenixes, flying tigers, flowers, bamboos, insects and fish, were exquisite and lively, which is a veritable one. The Oriental Sculpture exhibition hall is a collection of paintings, architecture, music and sculpture.

Shuilu'an is the largest preservation of the wall plastic group in China at present. Wall plastic group painting, round carving, relief, floor engraving art means as a whole, in the walls, beams, columns covered with more than 3700 figures and all things in nature. History & Background

Built from 42 years (1563 AD) to the first year of Longqing (1567 AD), a large number of clay painted statues, wall sculptures and hanging sculptures were carved on 13 walls of the temple, with a total of more than 3000 statues.

The Shuilu'an has been converted into a museum: the museum of the wall of the plastic. But it has rebuilt in Five dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
