Xi'an E-pang Palace (Chinese: ?????)

Brief Introduction
The E-pang Palace is located in Epang Village, the west part of Xi'an City. Epang Palace is one of the famous constructions with splendid in scale and graceful sight in China, it was built in different style on a big area. Accroding to record, there are more than 700 palaces in different sizes which obtained huge quantity of treasure and numerous beauties. Epang Palace was first built in 212 B.C. With the exception of its front hall, it was never completed according to findings by Chinese archaeologists. Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Biography, Since 1961, the site of the palace is listed as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. In 1994, relics of E-Pang Palace was confirmed by the UNESCO to rank the first among all ancient buildings in the world in terms of scale and intactness, and thereby was confirmed as one of the miracles and famous relics in the world and regarded as "The First Palace under Heaven".

The History of E-pang Palace
It is recorded, After Emperor Qin  united China, the national power as well as the population was continuous grew up  in Xianyang,so the Emperor Qin decied to let 700,000 people to build the E-pang Palace in his 35th regin years . In 212BC, Emperor Qin Shi Huang commanded to build E-Pang Palace. However, due to the huge scale of the project, only a front palace was completed during the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. According to the calculation performed in line with the recordation in Historical Records ? Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Biography, the front palace of E-Pang Palace is 690m wide, 115m long, covering an area of approximately 80,000 square meters with capacity of 10,000people. A road from the palace led straight to Zhongnan Mountain and a channel way was dug near the peak of the mountain. Crossing the Weishui River from the Epang Palace, one will arrive at lands belonging to Xianyang City. After the Emperor Qin Shihuang death, the succeeding emperor continued to construct the palace, with a storied building built every 5 steps and a pavilion every 10 steps. Groups of buildings and pavilions stretched westward to Xianyang City and eastward to Lintong City, covering more than 300li(1li= 500 m) and towering high into the sky. Renowned poet Du Mu of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) described in details about the Epang Palace in his Epang Palace Fu. During wars at the end of the Qin Dynasty, Xiang Yu captured Xianyang City and burned down the splendid Epang Palace.

What to see in E-pang Palace

There is a huge terrace with a size in 1,200 meters long and 400 meters wide. A large earth podium built by rammed earth is still seen in the south of E-Pang Village, being named by the locals as "Heaven Approaching Roof of Emperor Qin Shi Huang". Close to the southwest of the village stands a rectangle mesa with an area of approximately 260,000 square meters, which is named "Meiwu Mountain". These two locations are the most prominent architectural vestiges on the relics of E-Pang Palace. At the new theme park, you can see a very large building built in a traditional style with towers, a big plaza, and a big flight of stairs leading up to the main building. There are statues of Qin soldiers in the plaza standing at attention. Epang Palace is the largest palace site in the world regarded as one of  the miracles of the world.
